Spiritual gifts

I always find it amazing when I read how this gift or that gift has passed away.

The gifts of the Holy Spirit are supposed to be for this generation too, yet I hear and read from W.H. Reaves that the gifts of healing and prophesy are not for today.

These gifts are titled sign gifts. Supposedly these gifts do not apply to us today because we have the Word of God.

If I were to lock a new Christian in a room with a Bible and tell him to study what Scripture has to say about healing and miracles, he would never come out of the room not believing in miracles.

Godly people have taught this for a long time but it does not mean that they are right.

I am absolutely convinced that the Scriptures do not teach that the gifts of the Holy Spirit passed away with the death of the apostles.

It is not the teaching of the Scripture that causes people to disbelieve in the contemporary ministry of the miraculous.

There is one basic reason why Bible-believing Christians do not believe in the miraculous gifts of the Holy Spirit today.

It is this: They have not seen them. I will continue to watch Trinity Broadcasting Network because I get fed and thousands of people are becoming Christians every day and Christ is glorified.
