FBC Chalkville pastor Stone dies at 55

Roger Britt Stone, pastor of First Baptist Church, Chalkville, died Jan. 1. He was 55.

Stone recently celebrated two years of ministry at First, Chalkville. Prior to that, he served at First Baptist Church, Gurley; Pinckard Baptist Church; Southside Baptist Church, Ozark; and Neptune Road Baptist Church, Kissimmee, Florida.

Stone also served as a chaplain, bereavement coordinator and volunteer coordinator with Gentiva Hospice and Community Hospice for more than seven years and also as a discipleship-training director for Dale Baptist Association.

He held a bachelor’s degree from the Baptist College of Florida in Graceville.

Stone is survived by his wife, Francine, two children and one grandchild. (Hannah Muñoz)
