Strategy questioned

I am appalled at the “strategies” that some will resort to in an effort to try to be original or different.

The “Elect Jesus” campaign is the reverse of scriptural election, (Mark 13:20). My Savior is King of Kings and Lord of Lord, He is the Elect of God (1 Pet. 2:4) and He is not running for office.

If indeed the ones we wish to reach are “people who are hungry to know Christ,” surely we do not need to demean Jesus to get their attention. I find this program offensive and very unscriptural.

I applaud the “Want to know God?” column by Pastor Mike Johnson, very good and appropriate for a Christian paper, as was the editorial on Saudi Arabia. Keep up the good work.
