Marjorie L. Kimbrough. Nashville: Dimensions for Living, 2004. 143 pp. (Paperback).
Subtitled “Biblical Men of Compassion,” this work focuses on 50 male biblical characters that displayed in-depth concern for others. Fortunately Kimbrough points out that “compassion is a sign of strength, not weakness.”
Here are compelling thumbnail sketches of such men as Esau, David, Solomon, Elisha, Job, Isaiah, Daniel, Peter, Luke, Paul and Jesus.
Quite frankly, this is one of the most readable and challenging books this reviewer has encountered for a long period of time.
