See You at the Pole (SYATP) events at schools across Alabama drew thousands of students last year.
And Rick Hand, executive director of First Priority of Alabama, said he believes this year’s SYATP will see even more participating.
“We always push for more and more to be involved, and the excitement has been high in our schools this year about (Christian) campus clubs. That usually translates into excitement for See You at the Pole,” Hand said.
SYATP is an international student-led event that takes place on the fourth Wednesday of September each year around 7 a.m.
Students meet around their school’s flagpole to pray for their fellow students, teachers and nation.
First Priority also organizes rallies around the date that “feed See You at the Pole,” Hand said. “More than 10,000 attended those rallies last year.”
