Q: What do you enjoy most in the activities you are involved in?
A: I am involved in many different religious, civic and educational groups, but my favorites are those that help change the lives of people for the better — my church, Habitat for Humanity and missions projects and organizations such as the WMU Foundation and Christian Women’s Job Corps.
Q: Why do you volunteer your time and energy?
A: The Holy Spirit changed my life when I was a teenager. If I have done anything that’s good, it’s not me, it’s been the Holy Spirit.
Q: What do the activities you spend your time volunteering with demand of you?
A: They demand only a caring concern for the welfare of other people.
Q: What do you get out of volunteering?
A: Joy in seeing the lives of other people changed for the better.
Q: What led you into volunteering your time in these ministries?
A: A committed Christian just looks for opportunities to be of service.
Q: How do your family members support you in the work you do?
A: My wife, Marlene, is everything to me, and I couldn’t do anything without her.
She joins me in doing all of these things. She has the same common interests that I do and the same leadership of the Holy Spirit.
