ABUJA, Nigeria — Muslim extremists, aided by terrorists, slaughtered at least 40 Christians in two Nigerian states during November.
Morning Star News reported that 30 or more Christians were killed in Plateau State and 10 were slain in Kaduna State. The assailants also demanded ransom for a kidnapped Christian, whom they ultimately killed and demanded more ransom for the corpse.
Muslim Fulani herdsmen, along with terrorists, are suspected in the deadly raids on more than a dozen Christian villages in Plateau and Kaduna states. As many as 300 assailants were involved in the raids.
Not only did the assailants kill Christians, but they also burned homes and churches.
In October, kidnappers abducted a Christian telecommunications worker and killed him Nov. 17, even though three million naira (US $6,755), a portion of what was demanded, had been paid for his return. After torturing the man to death, the captors demanded 10 million naira (US $22,520) to release his corpse, stated Morning Star.
Nigeria is No. 7 on Open Doors’ 2022 World Watch List of places most difficult to be a Christian. Nigeria has led the world in the number of Christians kidnapped or killed for their faith.
