Credentials Committee
The credentials committee is appointed by the state convention president in consultation with the vice presidents at least 30 days prior to the annual meeting. Its purpose is to assist the registration secretary in problems regarding registration and seating of messengers.
This year’s committee was chaired by Pastor Britt Green, FBC Eclectic.
Other members were Pastor Rob Burns, East Pointe Baptist Church, Spanish Fort; Pastor Eric Hankins, FBC Fairhope; Pastor Paul Matthews, Jubilee Baptist Church, Daphne; Pastor Dee McGuire, Greensboro Baptist Church; and Pastor Rusty Sowell, Providence Baptist Church, Opelika.
Tellers Committee
The tellers committee is appointed by the state convention president in consultation with the vice presidents at least 30 days prior to the annual meeting. Its purpose is to assist the presiding officer and registration secretary in determining voice or standing votes and handling ballot votes.
This year’s committee was chaired by Barry Cosper, a messenger from The Baptist Church at McAdory, McCalla, and associational mission strategist for Bessemer Baptist Association.
Other members were Pastor Chase Clower, FBC Greenville; Pastor Ollie Gunn, Christian Walk Baptist Church, Midfield; Pastor Morris Johnson, Integrity Church, Hueytown; associate pastor Chad Middlebrooks, FBC Andalusia; Pastor George Smith, Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Eclectic; and journey pastor Charles Teague, Canaan Baptist Church, Bessemer.
Order of Business
The committee on order of business is recommended by the Committee on Committees and requires approval by convention messengers.
This year’s committee was chaired by Rob Jackson, a messenger from Eastern Shore Baptist Church, Daphne, and interim pastor of Spring Hill Baptist Church, Mobile.
Other members were Pastor Derek Gentle, FBC Tallassee; Pastor Buddy Gray, Hunter Street Baptist Church, Hoover; Pastor Jeff Redmond, Parkway Baptist Church, Auburn; Pastor Chip Starnes, FBC Bay Minette; and Pastor Ryan Whitley, CrossPoint Baptist Church, Trussville.
Resolutions Committee
The resolutions committee is recommended by the Committee on Committees and requires approval by convention messengers.
This year’s committee was chaired by Craig Carlisle, messenger from Twelfth Street Baptist Church, Rainbow City, and associational missionary for Etowah Baptist Association.
Other members were Pastor Michael Brooks, Siluria Baptist Church, Alabaster; retired pastor Travis Coleman, FBC Prattville; Rosemary Colvin, FBC Jackson; Bill King, Providence Baptist Church, Opelika, and associational missions director for Tuskegee Lee Association; Pastor Matt Simmons, Henderson Baptist Church, Troy; and Karen Watkins, West End Baptist Church, Clanton.
