The Living Years
Gaither Music Group
In James 4:14, we are reminded that we need to live, forgive and love while it is still called today. I agree with The Isaacs when they say if you are going to live right, make it right or love with all your might, then do it within “The Living Years.”
Let’s begin with The Isaacs’ matriarch, Lily. She is definitely the progenitor of the family’s pure vocals as we can hear on “For Those Tears I Died.” The New York-born songstress pays homage to her Jewish heritage on “Shalom My Home,” penned by her daughters. Sonya Isaacs Yeary starts the record off right with her super soprano vocals on the title track “The Living Years.” Perhaps one of her most powerful performances ever is on the choruses of the a capella hymn, “I Must Tell Jesus.”
Ben Isaacs is a singer who is comfortable in his own skin as you can hear on “Leave It All on the Altar.” He turns on the charm on “Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive,” which also displays his producing skills.
My favorite new original tune on “The Living Years” is the heart-gripping ballad written by Becky, Jimmy and Sonya Isaacs Yeary, “I Wanna Be There.”
“The Living Years” is somewhat of a sequel to the recording “Naturally” from a couple of years ago. In short, I think it sums up the epitome of “Isaacs music.”
