The Swift

When it comes to first impressions, there are generally very few artists or groups that can win an audience over.

But every once in a while, a gem comes along that puts a smile on your face from the very first note. That’s exactly how I felt upon hearing The Swift. This band’s piano-driven pop/rock sound is infectious from the moment it first bounces off your eardrums.

The Swift’s sound is at times reminiscent of artists like PFR, Queen, Ben Folds Five and Keith Green. The album even includes a cover of Green’s “Soften Your Heart.” From the bouncy “Tug of War” to the tender “More Than Gold,” the album is pure listening enjoyment.  A personal favorite is the song “Moshing Machine” which addresses a popular trend among concert-goers. The song offers the thought, “Rainbows and pianos just ain’t your style/But I fear you’ll miss why we’re here once in a while.”

The Swift is a band that is youthful in its sound and content. This band possesses a great deal of charisma that will appeal to a broad audience.
