Todd Burr marks 20 years as Dogwood Grove Baptist’s pastor

Todd Burr was called into ministry at the age of 12 and answered the call at age 23. In February, Burr celebrated 20 years as pastor of Dogwood Grove Baptist Church, Montevallo.

Before serving at Dogwood Grove Baptist, he was pastor of First Baptist Church, Overton, in Irondale, where he served for two and a half years before being called to Dogwood Grove on Feb. 8, 1998.

Burr’s 20 years at Dogwood Grove have been “a pastor’s dream,” he said.

“I have stayed faithful to the call by staying faithful to the Lord and keeping Him first and not the church.”

He has worked tirelessly to fulfill God’s direction for his church and strives daily to make Dogwood Grove an example of Christian service in the community. He and his family have a heart for missions and have led the church in constantly striving to give sacrifically to all missions offerings. “Our focus at Dogwood Grove has been on missions and building a strong community,” Burr said.

Burr holds a bachelor’s degree in religion from Samford University in Birmingham. He and his wife, Kari, have two children. (Jessica Ingram)
