Thirteen Christians in India required hospital treatment for wounds from an assault, for which nine tribal individuals were arrested but granted bail two weeks later.
The attack occurred May 31 during a morning prayer gathering of about 60 Christians in Sadrapal village in India’s Chhattisgarh state, reported Morning Star News.

A mob of approximately 40 to 50 tribal villagers perpetrated the assault upon those attending the prayer meeting, some as young as 2. One of the Christians beaten was a pregnant woman.
“Videos and photographs taken immediately after the assault show Christians strewn across the floor … some unconscious, others disoriented and exhausted from the beating,” stated Morning Star.
A Christian fled and ran five miles to a police station to report the incident.
After the attack, Christian families left the village out of fear. When they returned, they found their properties looted.
A Christian from another village told Morning Star that the believers had faced persecution for the past several years. They had been denied access to the water source, electricity and government rations.
