The University of Mobile (UM) Reading Council has been designated an Honor Council by the International Reading Association.
Mary Michael Campbell, president of the Alabama Reading Association, presented the recognition to UM Reading Council President Stephanie Barnes and congratulated students, faculty and staff during a UM Reading Council meeting Sept. 14.
To be designated an Honor Council, the UM Reading Council increased its membership and planned and implemented programs that enhance the knowledge of teaching reading, writing and poetry.
