University of Mobile Names New Chief Financial Officer

University of Mobile (UM) announced Feb. 22 the appointment of Joseph M. Wiegand as chief financial officer and legal counsel.

Wiegand will serve on the president’s cabinet, oversee UM’s business and financial operations and serve as university legal counsel. He currently serves in a similar capacity at Truett McConnell University in Cleveland, Georgia, where he also serves as dean of the Sattler School of Public Service and associate professor of law and government.

Wiegand will begin his new role at UM on June 18.
