Our God Is Faithful: Live Worship From The University of Mobile

The University of Mobile (UMobile) launched its music production label, 8Eighty Records, in August 2013. “Our God Is Faithful” is the label’s first release and it’s a great one. Recorded live at Ram Hall on the UMobile campus, the record includes original music written by the students as well as covers of popular worship songs.
On my first listen I was struck by the energy, the excellent performance and the quality of the live recording. This record is chock-full of high-energy worship music, and the recording professionals have done an outstanding job of capturing both the performance as well as the energy of the live event. I’m not familiar with Ram Hall nor its acoustic properties, but judging from the dramatic sense of space captured on the live recording, I must assume the hall’s acoustics are first-rate. Either that or the recording engineers are geniuses. I suspect both are true. I encourage you to seek out this new release. A video of the event is available on YouTube. Highly recommended.
