Progress is coming for the I-10 Mobile River Bridge and Bayway Project with a federal funding disbursement and construction update announced Tuesday.
The U.S Department of Transportation said it will release the $550 million federal grant that was awarded to the project last year for the construction of the Mobile River Bridge and Bayway multimodal project. The grant is the largest in a USDOT package of 180 infrastructure projects that Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy approved for disbursement Tuesday (May 6).

“We appreciate the commitment for Secretary Duffy and the Trump administration to expedite the completion of the funding process for the $550 million grant for the Mobile River Bridge,” Tony Harris, Alabama Department of Transportation spokesman, said in a statement.
“With this commitment, this is another positive step toward the completion of the Mobile River Bridge and Bayway Project.”
