CrossWay
Traditional/Spring Hill
Southern gospel music has long been associated with quartet singing and at the same time, southern gospel music has been blessed to have a wide range of good quartets.
Though some of the most legendary names are no longer with us, there is a large crop of them, you’ll find CrossWay, a Mississippi group that has earned the attention of many people.
The recording gets off to a major league quartet start with the first radio sing, “Walk On Water Kind of Day.” More traditional four-part harmony follows with the pleasant “So Much Singing to Do” before the guys deliver a strong challenge with “All The King’s Men.” The tempo kicks back up (complete with a Cajun feel) with the radio-friendly “Great and Awesome God” and then it’s on to a song that’s sure to delight audiences, “Walkin’ in the Will.” There’s great advice in “The Time That Remains,” as well as “Look Up.” You’ll probably hit the repeat button a time or two to catch up with CrossWay on “Who, What, When, Where and How” and you’ll most likely shed a tear as you hear the story of a Christian’s farewell in “Looking at You.” Patriotic chill bumps will rise as a result of listening to “See Old Glory Fly” and then the recording ends on a bouncy note, “Prayin’ for Deliverance” — and this song might just very well be the one many people point to as their favorite.
