Want to know God?

Do you want to know God? Can your friends know God? Can Osama bin Laden, Kim Jong-il, Charles Manson know God? The Bible answers those questions for us in one verse. The Bible says in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The Bible teaches us God so loved the entire world. How can the world know God? How can our friends, our family, our co-workers, our teammates and enemies of the Free World such as Osama bin Laden know God?

The Bible answers these questions for us in one verse, too. The Bible says in John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.’”

If God still loves the world and Jesus shed His blood and gave His life for the world, why do we have so many people that do not know the one, true God?

The Bible says in Revelation 3:20, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Jesus knocks on your heart’s door; He does not kick it down. The reason the whole world does not know Jesus is because God loves us so much He allows us to make it our decision to know Him through Jesus.

When I was growing up, my parents made decisions for me concerning church attendance, school attendance, length of my hair and discipline. The one decision my parents, my pastor, my teacher, the government and those in authority could not make for me was the decision to accept Jesus as Lord. I made the decision by myself.

The decision to accept the forgiveness of sin, the gift of eternal life and Jesus as Lord can only be made by you. No one can force Osama bin Laden to know God, but if he softens his heart as a little child, humbles his spirit, drops to his knees and asks Jesus for forgiveness and accepts him as Lord, no one can stop him from knowing God through Jesus. So you want to know God? You can through Jesus.
