Wife of retired pastor, author and playwright dies

Sue Curlee, wife of retired pastor, author and playwright Bob Curlee, died Sept. 20. She was 81. She held a bachelor’s degree from Judson College in Marion and a master’s degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Before her retirement, she taught at W.J. Christian School in Birmingham. Bob Curlee served as longtime pastor of Centercrest Church, Center Point, which merged with Eagle Ridge Church, Clay, in 2010 to form North Clay Church, Clay. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, four children and 13 grandchildren.
