Wilson named evangelism associate

Daniel Wilson has been named an associate in the evangelism office of the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions (SBOM).

Wilson comes to the position from the pastorate of Raleigh Avenue Baptist Church, Homewood, in Birmingham Baptist Association, where he had served since 2005. He previously served as pastor of Benton Baptist Church, Harrodsburg, Ky., and Beech Grove Baptist Church, Perryville, Ky.

Rick Lance, SBOM executive director, said, “From the first time I met Daniel Wilson to this present day, I have been amazed at both his giftedness in ministry and his maturity of perspective. … He brings the energy of youthfulness and a passion for Great Commission ministries, which will advance the Kingdom in Alabama and around the world.”

Wilson earned a doctor of ministry degree from Covington Theological Seminary in Rossville, Ga.; master of divinity from Luther Rice Seminary in Lithonia, Ga.; and master of theology from Campbellsville University in Kentucky.

He also received his bachelor’s degree from Campbellsville.

Wilson currently serves as president of the Birmingham Baptist Ministers’ Conference, as a member of the SBOM and on the board of directors for Alabama Citizens Action Program. (TAB)
