Imogene Windsor is 80 years old, but that has not slowed her down when it comes to being active in her church. Windsor has taught Sunday School for preschool-age children, including all of her children and grandchildren, for 55 years at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Dothan. Last year, Ridgecrest Baptist honored Windsor for her many years of faithfulness to this role. After losing her beloved husband in 2008, Windsor said she has been relying on the Lord even more to keep her going.
Q: How did you come to know the Lord?
A: At a revival when I was 15, I went down and asked the Lord into my heart and was baptized in a church in Dothan.
Q: What have you received from your Sunday School ministry?
A: I have learned to see through these little eyes all the love that God gives us. They are so precious and so loving to me. I have learned that there is beauty in their eyes everywhere they look.
Q: How do you see yourself involved in church in the future?
A: I am extremely blessed. My health is wonderful. My heart is just full of love for those kids, and they mean so much to me. I can’t give it up. It’s hard to quit because the Lord hasn’t told me to give it up yet. As long as I can, I plan to hang in.
Q: What difference has Christ made in your life?
A: He means everything to me.
