Longtime Baptist pastor Charles C. Worthy died Feb. 8. He was 73.
Born and raised in Dothan, Worthy graduated from Samford University in Birmingham before attending Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky., where he earned a master of divinity. His ministry took him across the world, including serving as pastor of Baptist churches in Germany.
Worthy also lived in Israel for seven years as a Baptist representative with the Foreign Mission Board (now International Mission Board).
Upon returning to the United States, Worthy served churches in Georgia and Washington, D.C., before finally settling in Jonesboro, Ga., where he lived until his death.
Worthy is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carolyn, and two children. (TAB)
