York Baptist Church secretary retires after 47 years

Jackie Masters, who served as secretary of York Baptist Church for 47 years, retired earlier this year. A reception was held June 7 to honor her years of service. Masters received a commemorative plaque, flowers, gifts and cards. She served with four pastors and one interim pastor during her ministry. “I enjoyed working with every pastor and interim and learned something new with each one,” Masters said. She also has been an active member of the Alabama Association of Baptist Ministry Assistants organization for 51 years, holding various leadership roles, including president. Leon Ballard is pastor.
