ABUJA, Nigeria — Two Christians were recently slain in an area of Nigeria where 10 others were killed the previous month as violence against Christians continues unabated.
Muslim Fulani herdsmen killed two Christian farmers May 7 in the Otabi-Alpa village of Nigeria’s Benue state, a local government council member told Christian Daily International-Morning Star News.

The council member identified the two as Jerry John and Tony Adejoh, a leader in the predominantly Christian community of Odugbeho.
On April 13, Fulani herdsmen killed 10 Christians in the Otobi-Akpa area, residents report.
‘Bullet wounds and machete cuts’
“Children as young as 5 years old were killed,” a Benue State House of Assembly member told the news outlet. “Corpses of the victims had bullet wounds and machete cuts. The old — both women and men — were slaughtered in their homes.”
Christian leaders in Nigeria believe the herdsmen seek to take properties of Christians and to impose Islam, the news outlet states.
World Watch
Nigeria has led the world in the number of Christians killed for their faith. It ranks No. 7 on Open Doors’ 2025 World Watch List of the 50 places most difficult to be a Christian.
