The unrelenting attacks of extremist groups upon Christians in Nigeria have claimed 16 more lives in just a matter of days.
Nigeria has led the world in the number of Christians killed for their faith or kidnapped. It ranks No. 7 on Open Doors’ 2025 World Watch List of the 50 places most difficult to be a Christian.

The news outlet Christian Daily International-Morning Star News recently reported the following details about attacks upon Christians in Nigeria:
— Muslim Fulani herdsmen raided Tse Orkpe village in Nigeria’s Benue state Aug. 24, killing two Christians. Eleven days prior, two others were slain in Uikpam village. Herdsmen also raided Yelwata village Aug. 11, killing three Christians. Yelwata had already experienced a herdsmen attack June 13 that left more than 200 Christians dead, sources said.
— A Christian farmer was killed and three individuals were wounded by Muslim Fulani herdsmen Aug. 27 in Gumel village in Bauchi state, sources recounted.
— The extremist group Boko Haram slew five Christians on Aug. 30 in Ngoshe village in Nigeria’s Borno state. The next day, three more were killed in Mussa village, sources stated.
