Just days after announcing the launch of 8Eighty Records, the new recording label releases its first album Aug. 19: “Our God is Faithful: Live Worship from the University of Mobile.”
The worship project was recorded live at Ram Hall on the University of Mobile (UMobile) campus. It offers eight songs blending original material written by students and alumni, plus covers of popular worship songs.
Downloads may be purchased through www.8EightyRecords.com and CDs may be ordered by calling 8Eighty Records at the UMobile’s Center for Performing Arts, 251-442-2553 or email 8eightyrecords@gmail.com. Songs will be available through iTunes on Sept. 17.
The recording reflects “in every way an amazing night of worship by University of Mobile students singing to their Creator in an authentic expression of true worship. The energy in the room was incredible,” said Jeff Quimby, 8Eighty Records general manager and A&R manager.
Quimby said songs like “Our God Is Faithful,” “Sing To The King” and “We Will Sing” will soon move beyond the walls of the university campus and find a home in churches around the world.
“The song ‘Jesus,’ written by students Jessica Rexrode and Candace Bennett, is a worship anthem declaring a statement of the one true King,” Quimby said.
The title track, “Our God is Faithful,” written by alumnus Zach Adamson, “is a powerful song of hope and reminds us of the never-changing, steadfast love of our God. The project’s underlying theme, the faithfulness of God, is really a banner for and over the campus of the university,” Quimby said.
