Volunteers will descend on Meridian, Mississippi, in a few weeks to help local churches and encourage bivocational pastors by serving low-income residents and organizations in need of assistance.
Serve Tour Meridian, set for March 18–19, is a partnership between local churches, Lauderdale Baptist Association, the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board and Send Relief, the compassion ministries arm of the Southern Baptist Convention. Projects will include light construction, painting and landscaping, hosting sports camps or block parties, and other volunteer-friendly activities.
Since Meridian is less than a 2 1/2 hour drive from Birmingham, teams from West Alabama will find Meridian a convenient spot for a weekend missions trip.
Send Relief staff will provide team trainings, prayer guides, debriefings and rallies to help encourage participating missions volunteers.
The Serve Tour is free, though individuals and groups must register with Send Relief. For more information or to register your team, go to Serve Tour Meridian.
