Latest News: Proposed SBC resolutions ready for review; new book on future of CP launched; study spotlights rate of pastors leaving pulpit; Duane Rollins has died

1.The resolutions committee released the proposed resolutions May 30 because of a bylaw change in 2023, which now requires the release at least 10 days ahead of the annual meeting. Previously, messengers received them at the meeting.

2. As the Southern Baptist Convention celebrates 100 years of the Cooperative Program — the SBC’s giving channel for missions and ministry — a new book explores the future of this cooperative effort.

3. Despite the unique pressures pastors routinely face, only 1.2% of evangelical and Black Protestant pastors leave the ministry each year, according to a 2025 Lifeway Research study.

4. Gareld Duane Rollins, who accused prominent Southern Baptist Convention lay leader Paul Pressler of abuse, died Friday (May 23).
