A pastor was recently beaten unconscious and hospitalized after he and his wife participated in an evangelistic event in Uganda.
David Musobya was involved in street evangelism in the Mayuge District of eastern Uganda, a source told Morning Star News, and as he and his wife walked to their lodging that evening (June 14) nine Muslims approached and asked about their presence there and Christian materials being distributed.
“The group objected to their preaching about Christ and the use of the cross in worship, and an altercation ensued,” Morning Star reported.

Elizabeth Nakato, Musobya’s wife, told Morning Star the Muslims stomped and kicked her husband and struck him with various objects. The assailants fled when a vehicle approached.
Musobya was taken to a medical facility, where he was still being treated as of June 26, Morning Star said.
Approximately 12% of Uganda’s population is Muslim and its constitution and laws allow for freedom of religion, including converting from one faith to another. However, Christian churches increasingly have received threats of violence, and some Christian converts have been attacked, killed or excommunicated by Muslim family members, World Atlas reported.
