A Pakistani court is seeking to determine through medical examination the true age of a reportedly 13-year-old Christian girl who was abducted and forced to marry her kidnapper.
Amber Nadeem was abducted June 12 in Faisalabad in Pakistan’s Punjab Province, Joseph Janssen of the advocacy group Voice for Justice told Christian Daily International-Morning Star News.

Mohsin Liaqat, the Muslim who abducted her, forced Nadeem to convert to Islam and marry him. The marriage certificate gives her age as 18, Janssen said.
After Voice for Justice became involved in the case, the accused was arrested and Nadeem was put into protective custody.
Documents for proof
Her parents provided documents to a court to show she was born in 2013, asking officials to return Nadeem to them, Janssen told the news outlet.
Nadeem’s legal team pointed to the Punjab Child Marriage Restraint Act 2026, which is supposed to protect youth from child marriages.
A special judicial magistrate ultimately ordered that Nadeem be examined to ascertain her actual age, Christian Daily-Morning Star reported.
World Watch
Pakistan is No. 8 on Open Doors’ 2026 World Watch List of the 50 places most difficult to be a Christian.
