When The Power Team visited the Florala area recently, team members didn’t have any trouble attracting attention. It’s not every day you see men rip phone books in two, splinter large blocks of ice and concrete with their bare hands and hold flaming telephone poles in the air.
Using feats of strength to communicate the gospel message, the Dallas-based Power Team ministered to approximately 4,000 people Aug. 16–20 through nightly crusades and school assemblies at Florala High School, W.S. Harlan Elementary School in Lockhart and Paxton High School in Paxton, Fla.
Daniel Garnett, pastor of First Baptist Church, Florala, in Covington Baptist Association, coordinated the events. He said approximately 100 people made first-time commitments to Christ and 200 made recommitments. The Tri-City Ministerial Association (Florala, Lockhart and Paxton) sponsored The Power Team’s visit to the area. About 50 members of various local churches volunteered during the crusade.
