Alabama Baptist entities are to be commended for their compliance with the Audit Committee’s request, said chairwoman Melissa Sahagan, who delivered the committee’s report to messengers Nov. 13 during the state convention’s annual meeting in Mobile.
The Audit Committee is charged with the task of studying the audit reports of Alabama Baptist entities. Each entity presented an audit prepared by a certified public accountant to be included in the 2007 Book of Reports. The committee, which met with representatives of the entities in October, reported that all provided the requested documentation and complied completely with its recommendations.
The Insurance Committee also met during 2007 to review and evaluate the adequacy of insurance coverage on properties owned by the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions and entities of the Alabama Baptist State Convention.
After a review of printed reports and interviews with entity representatives, the committee affirmed the current insurance coverage and commended the entities for their careful attention to the protection of their operations. (TAB)
