Recently I watched some ladies next door wash their clothes. Their washer is a bit different from what you use. They had four big pots of water. Their clothes were scrubbed by hand with a bar of strong soap in the first pot. Then they were wrung out and placed in the next pot, where they were soaped, scrubbed and wrung out again. Then they were rinsed and wrung out in the next pot and in the last, rinsed and wrung out again. They did not leave out any cycle. God feels that way about His people. We are made dirty by sin, and God wants us to be clean, so He has taken steps to cleanse us. He cleans us with the blood of His Son, Jesus, and “though our sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.”
