ABUJA, Nigeria — Audiences in Nigeria, India and the Baltic nations are the beneficiaries of expanded ministry by international Christian broadcaster Trans World Radio (TWR). This month, TWR added new programs to help reach people with the good news of Jesus Christ in languages they can understand. TWR now broadcasts 1,490 hours of Christian programming each week in 155 languages. Programs are aired from 13 primary transmitting sites worldwide, by continent-wide satellite networks, hundreds of local stations and via the Internet.
At this same time five years ago, TWR was airing more than 1,000 hours of weekly programming from 10 primary sites in more than 100 languages. Broadcasting since 1954, TWR passed the 100-language mark in 1995, yet it only took five more years to add an additional 50 languages to TWR broadcasts.
