Longtime Alabama pastor W.K. “Sonny” Edwards died July 1. He was 70.
After graduating from Samford University in Birmingham in 1973, Edwards served as a pastor for 35 years. He was pastor of Pisgah Baptist Church, Selma, at the time of his death. Edwards’ previous pastorates were Water Avenue Baptist Church, Selma; Dallas Avenue Baptist Church, Selma; and Ephesus Baptist Church, Sprott.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty J.; a daughter; a son; and two grandchildren. (TAB)
