The Greatest Hits

Keith Green was 11 years old when he leaned over and whispered to Steve Allen, “I just signed a five-year contract as a rock ‘n’ roll singer.” He was on the game show “I’ve Got a Secret.” It was 1965. Though a child prodigy, Green never quite panned out as the prepubescent dreamboat Decca Records envisioned him to be. He became disillusioned and turned to drugs. Then he turned to Jesus. Christian music hasn’t been the same since. Before his tragic death in an airplane crash in 1982, Green’s talents gave birth to such modern and incredibly catchy Christian classics as “There Is a Redeemer,” “Oh Lord, You’re Beautiful,” “Your Love Broke Through” and his fantastic “You Put This Love in My Heart,” which leads off this wonderful — and highly recommended —
18-song tribute to his legacy.
