NASHVILLE — Contributions through the Southern Baptist Convention’s (SBC) Cooperative Program (CP) for April 2009 totaled $15,600,936.66 — 1.04 percent, or $164,081.21, below the $15,765,017.87 received in April 2008, according to a news release from SBC Executive Committee President and Chief Executive Officer Morris H. Chapman.
Year-to-date contributions through the CP are 3.37 percent below the same time frame last year. As of April 30, the year-to-date total of $116,226,583.55 for CP missions is $4,051,927.32 below the $120,278,510.87 received at the end of April 2008.
For the CP Allocation Budget, the year-to-date total of $116,226,583.55 is 96.85 percent of the $120,001,486.50 budgeted to support Southern Baptist ministries globally and across North America. The SBC operates on an Oct. 1–Sept. 30 fiscal year.
