After 60 years in the ministry, Clyde Williams has retired — for the second time. Williams preached his last sermon as pastor of First Baptist Church, Axis, in Mobile Baptist Association on May 10.
He had served First, Axis, for nine years in that capacity.
Prior to that, Williams served as pastor of Crawford Baptist Church, Mobile, as interim pastor of Bayou Sara Baptist Church, Saraland, and on staff at Indian Springs Baptist Church, Eight Mile, all of which are in Mobile Association.
He also served as pastor of several churches in Mississippi and Louisiana.
Williams and his wife of 63 years, Betty, reside in Semmes.
