With a “big vision” to meet the needs of its community through the Sharing Ministry, Bethlehem Baptist Association purchased a new building, with room to grow.
While the ministry currently provides clothes and household items at no charge to those in need, Director of Missions John Marks said he hopes to do more. Because the new building provides an additional 4,500 square feet, Marks and his team of Sharing Ministry volunteers are seeking to include specialized space for teaching English as a Second Language and adult reading and writing, as well as tutoring, sewing and cooking classes.
Since its inception about 10 years ago, the ministry has served more than 10,000 individuals of all nationalities. When they come in, Marks said, “we try to share the gospel and let them know what they’re receiving is from people who love the Lord and want to share.”
