After about 45 years of faithful service as a pastor, Orien Ledford recently retired.
Ledford’s last church was Antioch Baptist, Fyffe, where he served almost five-and-a-half years first as the interim pastor and then full time. He described his time at Antioch as “refreshing,” saying “it was a time to see the church build and move toward having a younger pastor.”
Ledford previously served at Mount Hermon Baptist Church, Fort Payne, for 25 years and Chavies Baptist Church, Fort Payne, for 13 years. All three of his former churches are members of DeKalb Baptist Association.
“I have had a wonderful and rewarding ministry,” he said.
But Ledford is not done with ministry yet. He plans to serve as a supply preacher and evangelist. His desire is to help pastors and use the wisdom the Lord has given him to help serve churches.
“I don’t feel like my work is finished,” Ledford said. “My health is good and I plan on keeping on serving the Lord.”
