Through singing, serving and praying, 44 youth and adults from Shades Crest Baptist Church, Bluff Park, shared Christ in Ottawa, the capital of Canada, May 23–June 2.
The youth did work around the National House of Prayer, a Christian ministry in the capital city region, and a prayer walk in the area.
They put on a carnival for the community and moved furniture to help refugee families being aided by the Matthew 25:35 Network. They also participated in the Global Day of Prayer on May 31.
“It was a great opportunity to worship with people of different denominations yet serving one Lord,” said Denis Tanner, associate pastor of student and adult ministry at the Birmingham Baptist Association church.
Music also played a large role in the ministry of the Shades Crest Baptist youth and adults.
“Our choir led worship and was singing all over Ottawa,” Tanner said, listing sites such as Parliament, the National House of Prayer, a public market and a homeless shelter.
