Sardis Baptist Church, Boaz, on mission

Mountain View Baptist Church, Phil Campbell, in Franklin Baptist Association; Sardis Baptist Church, Boaz, in Marshall Baptist Association; and New Prospect Baptist Church, Haleyville, in Winston Baptist Association teamed up with individuals from Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi to reach the lost in Romania.

The 16-member team — led by Mike Goforth, pastor of Sardis Baptist — ministered in Ploiesti in the southern part of the country and Cluj-Napoca in the north June 2–14.

The team worked in prisons, medical clinics and children’s feeding units. During the day, it hosted a pastors conference, two womens conferences and a Bible school.

In the evenings, the team split into five groups and ministered in local churches, preaching, leading music and sharing testimonies.

The groups were in 25 churches in the two-week period.

There were 144 salvation decisions made. Sammy Taylor, pastor of Mountain View Baptist, noted that one decision was made by a person from Oregon who is serving in Romania through the Peace Corps.

Taylor said he is amazed that the team was able to reach an American for Christ while serving in Romania.
