Five members of Coker Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa Baptist Association traveled to Saltillo, Mexico, July 4–11 for a construction missions trip.
Led by Pastor Roger Phillips, the team did plumbing and masonry work as well as worked on a pavilion for a Christian children’s home, which houses 28 children. The team, which worked with independent representatives Phillip, Rebekah, Kala and Christa Askey, also ministered to the children and Saltillo community.
Phillips, who works part time with the charitable program Inflatables Around the World, which provides inflatables such as space walks and bounce houses to ministries across the globe, carried a donated inflatable to the Askey family to use in witnessing in Saltillo and the surrounding area.
Phillips described the trip as “incredible” and said there was a “great sense of accomplishment” among those who were able to participate.
