Green Valley Baptist Church, First Baptist Church, Rocky Ridge Baptist Church and Iglesia Cristiana Agape, all in Hoover, hosted a Thanksgiving dinner Nov. 22.
The four Birmingham Baptist Association churches, which met underneath a tent on the lawn of First, Hoover, had about 500 people come to share a meal and partake in a bilingual worship service.
According to David Byrd, education minister at Green Valley Baptist, the Thanksgiving meal was meant to foster cross-cultural fellowship and serve as an outreach to unchurched Hispanics. Byrd said that he hopes it encourages other churches to think how they might partner with others in their community. (TAB)
