Biblical Counseling conference set

East Memorial Baptist Church, Prattville, will host the Southern Baptist Association of Biblical Counselors’ (SBABC) Third Annual Conference March 27-28.

Paige Patterson and Gary Almy will be the featured speakers.

Patterson is president of the Southern Baptist Convention and Southeastern Seminary, Wake Forest, NC.

Almy is associate professor of bio-psychiatry at Loyola University School of Medicine and associate chief of staff at Edward Hines Fr. Veteran’s Hospital in Hines, Ill.

The conference starts at 6 p.m. with Patterson speaking on “Counseling and the Church.” Workshops will cover topics such as attention deficit disorder; counseling women through their emotions; crisis intervention; the influence of New Age psychology and church discipline.
