The 11-year-old mortgage statement of Blanton Baptist Church, Valley, turned to ashes Jan. 25.
“Through the generosity of some members we were able to pay it off ahead of schedule,” said Linda Clark, wife of the pastor, Billy Clark.

In 1990, the building was achieved through the labors of church members. Carpenters for Christ and other volunteers. The building now serves as a place of fellowship and worship to 95 members.
