First, Roanoake, plans “Carpenter’s Son”

First Baptist Church, Roanoake, will present “A Walk with the Carpenter’s Son,” for Easter April 6-8 and April 12-14.

Visitors to the drama will see scenes from Christ’s life during the presentation, beginning with His birth in addition to His feeding of the multitudes, His betrayal, crucifixion and resurrection. Spectators will be led to the different scenes in groups of 12-15, where they will see more than 135 people participating in “A Walk with the Carpenter’s Son.”

Stephen Dean, minister of music/education at First, Roanoake, said eight different actors will portray Jesus in the different scenes, with five each portraying Peter and Judas. Another feature of the presentation are the live animals that Dean said will be used in the Nativity scene.

Dean said work on the production is having an impact on the lives of the crew and cast. “This is already changing lives,” Dean said. (TAB)
