First Church, Carbon Hill, citywide festival

First Church, Carbon Hill, will be one of many sponsors of Carbon Hill’s inaugural citywide festival, Hillfest, Sept. 18. The 9 a.m. to noon festival will include music, food and children’s activities. There will be two musical stages, one for gospel and contemporary Christian music and one for country, southern rock, blues and jazz music. The youth of First Church, Jasper, will perform on the stage reserved for Christian music. Hillfest also will feature a lawn mower race and a lawn mower parade after the race.
