Jimmy Jackson, senior pastor of Whitesburg Baptist Church, Huntsville, will complete his second one-year term as president of the Alabama Baptist State Convention during the upcoming annual meeting.
“It’s been good. I’ve enjoyed the journey,” Jackson said. “It was wonderful to get around the state and meet people and to get to know more about how Alabama Baptists function.
“I’ve served as a pastor almost 40 years in the state, and I’ve learned more in the last two or three years than the whole other time,” he said.
“It was good to see how the network functions and how many good things are going on. We are a healthy convention. God has blessed us with the kind of leadership we have and the kind of followership we have. I want to do everything I can to strengthen that.”
Set for Nov. 16–17
Jackson will call the two-day annual meeting to order at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16 at Hunter Street Baptist Church, Hoover. His presidential address will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. The meeting will conclude before noon Wednesday.
