Indian Creek marks 150 years with double attendance

Indian Creek Baptist Church, Banks, celebrated its 150th anniversary during the morning worship service Sept. 12.

Member Donna Smith researched the Bullock-Centennial Baptist Association church’s history and presented it to the 80 people present — more than double the number who normally attend.

A representative of the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission was on hand to present the church with a certificate honoring its many years of work.

Pastor Earl Ledbetter brought the message.

Following the service, attendees enjoyed a luncheon, complete with a cake decorated with a picture of the church building.

“We hope to continue to grow and be an outreach mission to the community to help people,” Smith said of the congregation’s plans for the future.
